Samuel was born in North Carolina circa 1790 and died in Tennessee about 1857, two years after the birth of his last child. We have not yet located either a birth or death certificate. However, we are able to track Samuel's westward movement by census and deed records. Based on the age grouping of his children, he had three wives.
